EMPACT Creative Sustainability in Practice: Body Performing Nature

8-9 of July 2023 | 9am to 5pm (CET) | TALEGGIO VALLEY (BG) ITALY

We are pleased to announce this seminar in the framework of the innovative project EMPACT – Empathy and Sustainability: The Art of Thinking like a Mountain, co-funded by the EU Creative Europe Programme (Grant Agreement No: – EMPACT – CREA-CULT-2021-COOP-2).

The seminar focuses on how artists and other cultural promoters can implement empathic practices towards the environment in their work. Join these two days to discuss the role of empathy in the performing arts as a means to collectively re-examine the relationship between human and nature and how Art can put its creative capacity into practice towards a more sustainable cohabitation.  For that, NAHR has chosen the topic of Air, inviting visual and performing artists to take inspiration from this natural element and its interconnected role in the natural and cultural ecosystems of Val Taleggio and the world.

The themes for each day will be presented in a dynamic way, combining round table discussions with guided visits to the neighboring sites of interest. Together, we will think about literature, philosophy, poetry and environment through the element of Air. Taking a collaborative critical and creative approach to poetry, philosophy, art and design and environmental issues of today, the seminar is thought to be an experimental laboratory for artistic/cultural ecological practices.

The seminar is organized by Nature, Art & Habitat Residency (NAHR), an EMPACT consortium partner,  and will be held in the English language.

If you are passionate about socio-environmental sustainability, join us! Artists, cultural professionals, researchers, educators, students, cultural policy-makers, are all invited.  The seminar is free of charge and has limited capacity  of attendance: to reserve your place, fill in this registration form: https://forms.gle/rCQRvt7LpYHVq9Hu9
